Price Guide
The make and model of your system will be a huge determining factor in the cost (more so than the number of outlets!). Another cost factor will be how you would like to control each of the outlets airflow/air volume.
To better explain the listed prices below:
Small Home/Villa
- Unit Size : Usually either a 7kW or 10kW model
- Outlets : Vary from 5-7 (depending on the number of separate living areas).
- $8,500 - $10,000
Mid Size Home/Cottage Style
- Unit Size : Usually a 10kW or 12.5kW model
- Outlets : Vary from 6-8 (again depending on how many separate living area there are).
- $9,500 - $11,500
Family 4 x 2 Home
- Unit Size : 14.0kW – 16.0kW
- Outlets : Vary from 8-10 (again depending on numbers of living areas)
- $11,000 – $13,000
Large Home
- Unit Size : 16.0kW – 18.0kW model
- Outlets : 10-14 (ideally 12 outlets is a maximum within design parameters on a residential style AC unit)
- $14,000 - $16,000
Once you leave the above size ranges, you do head into a Commercial Package sizing. With over 25 years of experience at Langler Air, we always recommend that if you have a Large home and need to go down the line of 13+ outlets to gain complete coverage that its seriously time to consider 2 x separate units.
You can use the above numbers to gauge cost (unfortunately x 2), however I would suggest to have a budget of $20,000 – $25,000. (There will always be installers who tell you one unit, however Air Conditioning outdoor units over 17kW account for as many noise complaints across the Perth suburbs as Pool Pumps!!) So for large units consider if your home is on a rural block or perhaps on a corner lot where neighbours are not going to be impacted, then it may be best to stay away from these monster units.
